Over the next few months, California must finalize the design of its allowance auctions and decide how it will implement market oversight. This session will examine auction design and lessons learned - including lessons from Europe - regarding market protection and what steps California is taking or should be taking to ensure the integrity of the market.
Jane Lloyd (BCAPSc, MA), Director, Markit. Jane is responsible for strategic business development for Markit’s environmental division. Jane joined Markit in July 2009 through the acquisition of the TZ1 Environmental Registry from the New Zealand Stock Exchange.
Jane has an extensive background in business development and marketing, having worked for multi-nationals and non-profits alike in Asia Pacific, Europe and North America.
Jane has been instrumental in product innovation and establishing regional strategies in the environmental compliance and voluntary markets. She has been key to the establishment of Markit’s status as the largest voluntary registry service provider worldwide.
Jane also leads Markit’s engagement with national and regional governments on environmental markets initiatives throughout North and Latin America, including facilitating solutions for the Governors’ Climate and Forest Taskforce. Additionally, Jane co-heads Markit’s team on the design and implementation of the Auction Operator platform for the California Air Resources Board’s Cap and Trade Program.
